Little Lost Blog

What's my deal? I joined Instagram! That's what happened! It's been just like everyone warned me it would be. It's so addicting! I really need to cut down on it, and get back to my blog. I'm sorry that I've neglected it so badly.
Estate Sale and Garage Sale season are in full swing! So I've been finding lots of fun things. Here are some of them.
I've added some quilts and table cloths to my collections!

I found this adorable vintage candy tin with a wienee on it!

I scored some vintage decals that I have some projects in mind for!
The enamel floral pins were at the thrift, and I gave them to Tammy and Deb when we got together at Deb's house the other day!

I found an entire bag of frozen charlottes at Goodwill! What???
*most are now sold

I've found a new thrift that is quite good to me! Love this old bird tin and rug!

And I couldn't believe when I scored these two characters...in the home and garden section! They're about a foot tall, and heavy as heck!

And this little deer and blue bird mug was found at an estate sale last weekend!

OK, I have to admit to trying my hand at holding an Instagram Sale. It was NOT my cup of tea!
For one thing, you have to be able to text really fast for a couple hours. This is not a good mix when you have Rheumatoid Arthritis! By the time I went to bed, I couldn't even move my fingers. I won't be doing it again. It made me so appreciative (not that I wasn't before) that I've always been able to sell things on Etsy and straight off of my blog, with my Market Mondays.
I want to get back to doing that!

I have a couple quilts and throws that I need to sell. It's so hard to pass them by when they're so beautiful! I'll post again real soon (promise), and see if any of you are interested in them.
Hope you're all doing real well! We're having a garage sale on Saturday! I've got tons of work to do in the next two days!

Thanks Friends!
Erica :)

Vintage Stuff I Haven't Told You About!

This post will only make it seem like I've been buying tons of stuff. But I really haven't been. lol
These things are from that chunk of time a few months ago when I didn't have a computer. The flea market was still going on. And I went to a few estate sales. Here's what I found!

Actually these were at Goodwill. I didn't own a single thermos. Wasn't going to jump on that bandwagon. But there they were...all three of them sitting together like that. An instant collection. So of course I HAD to.

This guy is a major score for me! I've wanted a Santa Candy container like this for years. I went to an estate sale that was a total bust. And just as I was leaving (empty handed) I looked up and there He sat, up high on a shelf in the dining room. He wasn't priced. So I asked how much and was told $1.00.
He's German and in such great shape!

Ok, What do you think? Is she holding a mitten? And He's trying to go deliver toys without his mittens, but She's saying "Wait Dear, You better put your mitten's on".
Or is She holding an oven mitt? A squirt gun? lol.

Flea Market finds, and a couple things from a good sale at an antique store. My favorite thing here is the box that the Tree Top came in!

This large Santa table cloth is not old. But I was thrilled to find it at the flea for only $2.00!

Another Tree Topper with Santa this time. And one teeny knee hugger.

The little turquoise Santa is one that I didn't have. Harder to find I think.

I want to do something fun with these two reindeer. I might have to get a little "Magpie Ethel" with them.

Nice to find tear drops instead of the same old round ones.

Whew! Ok, now I feel a little better. I felt like a had a dirty little secret that I had to share with you guys. Had to confess and come clean. Now I have nothing more to hide.
Oh! Well...maybe a couple (little) things. :)
Thanks for listening! I hope you're all having a great week!
Erica :)

Baubles and Babes!

Hi Friends! I hope you're all doing well. I'm doing pretty well myself. I'm all healed from my gall bladder removal. Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciated it so much.

So anyway,  here are some recent finds. From the flea market, these ornaments are huge! Like grapefruit sized. I'm not sure I really like how big they are, but I do love that hot pink one!

The same seller had cleaned out her mother in-laws home, and also had the box of dwarfs, the bells and foil leafs below.  From a different seller I bought this old button tin with the pansies. It's super deep, and I can tell that it used to have a handle. More x-mas seals! Because I'm addicted.

 Bells and Silver Corsage Leaves.

I love this pink bell! It's covered in mica, and I'm going to make a corsage with it.

This was at Goodwill the other night!
I always check the linen section just in case....and it FINALLY happened! It's large and clean with no holes!

Today I ran to two estate sales. The first one was so over-priced, it was a joke. Like the solid colored Shiny Brites were $3.00 each...so the full box was $36.00! hahahahah
But I was able to dig in a .50 basket and came up with these few pieces. The Snowman will get a little rehab. The second sale was a bust.
I'm heading to the flea market in the morning. So here's hoping! I haven't been to this one yet this year. Hope it's good!
OK- Have a great weekend. :)
Erica

ps.  I went to my (5 year old) niece's ball game the other night.
Here are pictures I took of each of the kids.
I love being an auntie to these 3 babes!

Jacey is 5!

 Lucas is 4!

And Drew is almost 10 months!

Playing Catch Up, Recent Finds

Hi Dear Friends. :) It's Me. I'm alive. I hope you've all been well!
OK we'll just skip to the stuff.  I was able to cross off the picnic basket tin on my "WANT" list. It was marked "as is" at an antique store. But of course I don't mind that it's not perfect. The snowflake piece of Pyrex was at the Goodwill for $3.99 so even though I swear I'm not collecting Pyrex anymore (lol) I just couldn't leave it there. And a cute aqua strainer that I've been using a lot, only .99 at GW.

This old candy tin has been at one of my favorite antique stores for a long time. So I finally gave in and bought it, thinking it would take center stage in my Easter display this year. But I didn't get to decorate because I wasn't feeling well. Next year!

One day there was a huge stack of vintage Easter cut outs at the little thrift store. They were marked just .50 each, so I bought them all and I have duplicates of some of them. They'll go in a Market Monday someday soon. Bummer I couldn't do it before Easter.

Aren't they sweet?

Love this bunny couple!

That same day there was a stack of these cute trays! I know I already have one packed away, so I grabbed these for Market Monday too.

I had to grab this unopened box of PAAS egg dye from 1985. This is exactly the kind we used when I was little and those characters on the box bring back memories! And I can never ever pass up a vintage copy of "The Golden Egg Book". I sent this one to a sweet friend.

That rabbit candy tin reminded me of something that I found awhile ago but didn't show you. This wallet was at the thrift store and I think I paid $2 for it.  I love the lantern she's holding, and the white rabbit at the bottom! Such a funky piece.

If you look up Dumpling Dynasty, you'll see cute things! They make adorable pillows with deer and other creatures too!

I found a vintage "Farm Lotto" game with such sweet little cards.

Now and then I get lucky and find vintage x-mas at Goodwill. These Holt Howard candle holders for $1.99 each plus the tin and a bag full of sugar bells and foil leaves were a great surprise!

This is the second time I've found bags of x-mas stuff like this at GW. The last time it was old bottle brush trees with mercury glass beads. Both times the things still had dealer tags attached to them. So I guess antique dealers sometimes donate their leftovers when they quit selling.

So that's that! I hope you guys have been finding some fun things too. Or maybe you've been having fun gardening??? I'm really excited to start buying flowers and to get the yard looking pretty!
Oh! I did go to one estate sale a couple weeks ago. I'll be back soon with pics of what I found.
Talk to you soon-
Erica :)

A Few Finds and A Market Update!

 Hi Pals! :)
Well, I haven't been going to the thrift stores every other day like I did last year, so I consider that progress in my "vintage x-mas addiction". But here are a few things I've added to my collection.
These Santa mugs were at an estate sale. They were the only thing I bought there.

This banner was at one of my favorite antique stores! And it happened to be in Garage Sale Gal, Deb's booth! Thank you Deb! I just love it!

I think it will go across my mantel.

I also bought this vintage corsage for $2.00 that day!

And a bunch of small crafty things.

Some of you might think these snowmen are scary. I can understand that. lol
But I love them! They're made of composition, covered in mica, and are very old!

These Starbrite Ornaments are really cool. They open and you can create a little scene in them.
Love these mod, funny clip-on birds too!

This guy and the ornaments and birds came from the cute little thrift in my home town.

And so did these great stocking kits! LOL Look, apparently they're "Fascinating To Complete"!

This musical scene was at Goodwill last night!

It still works, and was made in Japan. The ultimate kitschy x-mas thing isn't it?

OK- Just an FYI that I'll be having a MARKET MONDAY on 11/11
at 5:00 PM central time! It will be a mix of handmade things and some vintage x-mas things too! Hope you can make it.

Have a great weekend my friends!
Erica :)

On The Work Table, and Goodwill Goods

 Hi Pals! :)
Thought I'd share a couple things that I've been working on...just a hint,
to get you in "The Mood"!
I went to Michael's today just to see what else they've put out for Christmas. Cute stuff!
I didn't buy anything, but it was fun to look and it made me want to go home and make things.

Hey, did anyone see those big clip-on mushroom ornaments at Michael's yet? They're in a box of 8 I think. Soooo cute! I need to go back and use my coupon to get them. They'd be great on a wreath!

Can you believe that she was at Goodwill? There were 4 of them, but the others were in poor shape.  That same day I also found a very old BINGO game!

It says "Long Popular at Summer and Winter Resorts".

No marking on these little dishes. Such cute colors though!

This purchase makes me feel like an official hoarder.
But I thought it was kind of cool because
1.It's patriotic
 2. It's from 1977, the year I was born
3. It's marked JAPAN (not Made in USA of course)
4. Maybe it will sell on EBay for like $50!  Haa!

 Ahhhhh! What's happening to me????

And a few pumpkins from Goodwill too. The candle in front is the largest Gurley I've ever seen!

The label was perfect so of course they had to go and put the price tag right over the word "Gurley".
Why do they always do that?

Our little baby Drew (my niece) was baptized yesterday.  I could have held her forever!

Such a little baby doll.

OK- Hope you all have a great week!
Erica :)
