Little Lost Blog

What's my deal? I joined Instagram! That's what happened! It's been just like everyone warned me it would be. It's so addicting! I really need to cut down on it, and get back to my blog. I'm sorry that I've neglected it so badly.
Estate Sale and Garage Sale season are in full swing! So I've been finding lots of fun things. Here are some of them.
I've added some quilts and table cloths to my collections!

I found this adorable vintage candy tin with a wienee on it!

I scored some vintage decals that I have some projects in mind for!
The enamel floral pins were at the thrift, and I gave them to Tammy and Deb when we got together at Deb's house the other day!

I found an entire bag of frozen charlottes at Goodwill! What???
*most are now sold

I've found a new thrift that is quite good to me! Love this old bird tin and rug!

And I couldn't believe when I scored these two characters...in the home and garden section! They're about a foot tall, and heavy as heck!

And this little deer and blue bird mug was found at an estate sale last weekend!

OK, I have to admit to trying my hand at holding an Instagram Sale. It was NOT my cup of tea!
For one thing, you have to be able to text really fast for a couple hours. This is not a good mix when you have Rheumatoid Arthritis! By the time I went to bed, I couldn't even move my fingers. I won't be doing it again. It made me so appreciative (not that I wasn't before) that I've always been able to sell things on Etsy and straight off of my blog, with my Market Mondays.
I want to get back to doing that!

I have a couple quilts and throws that I need to sell. It's so hard to pass them by when they're so beautiful! I'll post again real soon (promise), and see if any of you are interested in them.
Hope you're all doing real well! We're having a garage sale on Saturday! I've got tons of work to do in the next two days!

Thanks Friends!
Erica :)

A Last Minute Estate Sale!

Yesterday I just had to get out of the house. I told my self no estate sales...but I finally gave in! Why do I even try to resist? I got there 45 min before closing time and had so much fun digging!
 Here's what I found.

The angel is by Holt Howard and she's a tree topper! I think she needs a make-over though.  Christmas cards and ribbon to add to my stash. And I never used to pick up solid colored Shiny Brites, but lately I can't seem to leave them behind either. It's part of the addiction I guess. Ha!
(pyrex bowl was mine already)

Isn't she sweet? I think I'll "pluck" her feathers and give her a dress. She should also hold some ornaments and a tree or something don't you think?

I could tell that the x-mas stuff had already been gone through. I don't even want to think about what I missed! I feel lucky that I walked away with this. The Gurly candles cleaned up really well with a damp paper towel.

The first thing I did was go to the basement, and there was half a jar or mercury glass beads just sitting on the work bench with all of the tools!!! Then I went upstairs and found a box full of x-mas "garbage"...I sat on the floor and picked out each of the little glass ornaments that were at the bottom.

All these things were on a dollar table in the basement! This is the cutest tablecloth I've ever found! It was covered in stains though. It's not anymore! I worked hard on it. And it will be in the Market on Monday! No markings on these mugs, but they are the perfect shade of Tiffany blue/green.

I found a few sheets of vintage x-mas wrap, a frozen charlotte, and a jumbo Rand McNally story book too! When I brought my pile up to the gal at the desk she said "How about $6 for all of it"?
 I was filthy when I left...but so happy! :)

Hope you're all having a fun weekend!
Stop by for "Market Monday" at 5:00 central time if you can!
Erica

REDNESDAY: Last Summer At The Thrift Store

Hi Everyone. I scanned my room for something RED today and here is what I came up with. This little shadow box holds lots of "littles". I know it seems like I'm someone who would collect figurines...but I really try not to be. Haaa! Last summer is when I accumulated all of these little guys, and it happend because I had a crush on Frozen Charlotte Dolls for quite a few months! I still love them, but really felt the need to compartmentalize, and not get a cluttery look going on.

This shadow box was at the thrift store for like $3 bucks. I should probably paint it a cute color. Oh well, I'll add that to the list! The red bird whistle reminded me of a time when we stopped at a flea market on the way to the cabin when I was a little. My sister and I each got one of these whistles and I think we spent that whole week up north making them chirp!

The antique bunny candy container was an Ebay splurge a couple years ago. I keep him out year-round instead of just bringing him out at Eastertime.

My mom was the world's best Easter Basket maker and Christmas Stocking Stuffer. My sister and I would always look forward to our stockings even more than what was going to be under the tree. Anyway, the pink rocking chair with the bunny is an 80's Hallmark ornament. I can't tell you how much that little pink rocking chair got played with when my sister and I would play what we called "miniatures". Sometime when I got older, it got LOST! So imagine how excited I was when this little bunny on her rocking chair was at the flea market!

Last summer this pair of 1950's lithographed bird prints were at the little thrift shop in town.

They're big! And I've put one on each side of the window in my bedroom.

Nicely framed, with glass.....$7 EACH! I raced home to see who the artist was, and if they had any value. I knew I was keeping them so I don't know why I cared about their worth, but it's just fun to know I guess. And yes, they did have some value!

"Scarlet Tanagers & Wild Cherry" cr 1950, by James Gordon Irving

"Bluebirds & Dogwood"

I love that these aren't just plain botanicals and the birds are so pretty. Best of all I now have some real art for my bedroom!

I hope you are all having a great week. Ahhhhh! The Olympics are nearing the end! We have enjoyed them so much around here. It's become my evening ritual!
I'm linking up with Sue for REDNESDAY! See lot's of beautiful red treasures over there!

Inspiration From Frozen Charlottes

I'm always on the look out for these funny little dolls.

I have the best luck at fleamarkets and estate sales.

Something about them just gets me. LOL. I just know some of my friends are reading this with their jaws dropping! Some of these don't even have arms. But all you artistic souls out there know what I'm talking about. :)
