I've Missed You All!

Hello Hello! I'm finally ready to get back to blog land!  My sister and I are settled into our new place, though I'm not quite ready to show pics yet. We are still trying to make it look cute!
I still owe many of you emails and thank yous for your sweet comments on my post about losing my parent's dog, Billy. My blogging pals helped me so much!
And as for my last post, I'm happy to say that I only lost 2 followers! LOL :P

Mini Rand McNally's and this darling Coloring Book were found at a local antiques shop last week.
Vintage coloring books are a new collection of mine! As if I needed one! Haa!

These "smalls" were at the same store. Yes, I seem to like imaginary men the best! lol  My friends and family would same something along the lines of "she's too picky". But of course I don't agree!  Anyway,  I had to get this postcard! And the Get Well card is just perfect for someone many of us know!

Despite the fact that I like "Imaginary Men" best, I do not prefer imaginary babies!
Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock! I had to grab these unused vintage baby books.

The graphics are so darn cute!

It's not often that you find them this clean and unused!

I stopped at a new little thrift called "Too Good To Be Threw." Isn't that a cute name?
I found the McCoy planter and the children's book for $1 each. And all the vintage seam binding was .10 a package!

The book is so sweet!

I'm so addicted to vintage pics of  animals!

This vintage Girl Scout tin was at the flea market. I just thought it was neat. It'll be for sale.

I hit my very first Garage Sale of the season, and actually had some luck! Two boxes of x-mas lights for a dollar each, and a Lefton Angel in a .50 box at the end of the driveway!

The old silverware tray was at the same sale, for $1. And then I found two packs of strawberry invitations, the game of Hearts, an antique valentine, and a Little Golden Book that I didn't have, at my favorite little thrift!

I don't have a record player yet but I really want to find one this summer! So I keep picking up records when I see fun ones.

These were each .50 at the thrift!

I love Christmas oldies!

And then lastly, these are both by USA pottery. I love the one with the scale type pattern on it. I was a bit annoyed that the thrift had it marked $5.00 "Vintage", but I bought it anyway. The other one was only a dollar at that same garage sale.

Well, I hope everyone has been doing well! I know I have a ton of blog reading to do. I need to catch up on what's been going on with everyone!
And Hey!! Yes, I am still hosting the CHRISTMAS IN JULY SWAP! I will post about it next week! So be on the look out!
Erica :)

A Post Easter Post :)

Sandy hosted a great swap this year for Easter! In addition, she and I did a one on one swap. I feel honored that she asked me. And she sent me such great things! This wooden cut-out rabbit ornament is so sweet!

Jordan Almonds, Glimmery Gumballs, Jewel Toned Flowers, and even a few Christmas Corsage pieces were included!

But it didn't stop there! This German Egg is jumbo size!

And I can't believe that Sandy was willing to part with a whole book of vintage Birthday Seals!

And just look at these little Easter Magnets!
I forgot to take a picture, but can you believe that there was also a $10 Target gift card included? On the backside, Sandy wrote that it was to buy something for my new house! It's still in my purse because I want to find just the right thing! A picture frame perhaps??
Sandy, you were beyond generous to me! I don't think I quite matched you on this one, but someday I will "get you back"!
Thank you so much my friend! :)

OK, the other day at my local little thrift, I was shocked to discover these two vintage ornaments hanging in the Easter section!
They're about the size of a large shiny brite, and the globe is glass.

That's real lametta tinsel wrapped around them! The price? Fifty cents each!

The bottoms are marked "Made in West Germany".
Has anyone seen them before? I wonder if they were intended as x-mas ornaments. This is the kind of item that kills me! lol Because I love them, but I bet they would be worth selling. Especially for a girl with very limited $$$!
But ooohhh how I love them! Ahh!
What do you guys think? :)

I hope you all had a fabulous Easter!

Thank you for following, commenting, and being a great friend to me!
I want to let you know that I'm pretty sure I'm going to take the month of April off from blogging. The move is going great, but I'm very slow with things because of my sore ankles. I'm finding that I want to dive in and get things set up and arranged, but I can't stand up for very long, so it's quite difficult. I've also had to face the fact that
"My Name Is Erica, and I'm Addicted to Vintage Junk"!
Ahhh! I have way too much stuff! So I have to have a garage sale within the next couple weeks. I bet I have at least 50 pieces of Pyrex that have to go!

I can't wait to come back though, and show you all how it turns out!
I think it's going to look cute!
See you in May my friends,
Erica :)

A Sweet Chicky: Miss Linda Lou

My swap partner for Sandy's Easter Swap was "Lady Linda" ! She goes by Linda Lou because there are a lot of other Linda's. Very Cute!
OK- When I opened the box, this vintage Chick Book was the first thing I saw. Can you imagine how happy I was?

There were two of these huge eggs filled with so many fun things! I finally have one of those yellow birdie clips that are so popular! And look at the tin egg! Oh! And Cotton Candy Pop Rocks!

I seriously felt like I was 5 years old and had just found my Easter Basket! lol
Look at the vintage Easter Seals! Was she good to me or what?

But that wasn't all! LOOK at the spoolie that Linda Lou made! Isn't it fun how we each did something so different for our spoolies? She used a vintage child's tea cup! I can't wait to bring it out year after year for Easter!
She also sent this darling ducky card by Rust Craft, my favorite vintage card company !

And then to top it off...I finally get my very own vintage "Dennison" Ducky die cut! I've looked at these on eBay for years. Love love love it!
Linda Lou- it's been a joy getting to know you! You're a sweetheart, and I was so lucky to have you as my partner for this swap!

In other Eastery News: I didn't decorate this year. I'm still at my parent's (for 2 more weeks) and it didn't seem like a good time right before the move. But some how, I've still managed to fill a shelf with rabbits and ducks!
This guy was at one of the shops in town the other day. Such a good deal that I couldn't leave him there!

This German paper-mache egg was at the thrift the other day! They were up to their (new) trick of marking things "vintage", so it was $4. I couldn't leave it behind though. The Daddy Duck is smoking a cigar, and just look at that little
flock of babies! Ahhhh! Help me!
Vintage Bunnykins baby cup was at the Goodwill for .99!

I found this very old card at Annie's (my favorite Antique Store ) for $1.

OK Friends, Market Monday is tomorrow! I got up at 4AM and hit a good Estate Sale yesterday morning. The first one of the season...boy it was fun!
It's a little late, but I found some good Easter things. So they'll be in the Market along with lots of vintage children's books/dolls etc this time.

Hope you can make it! 6PM CENTRAL TIME.

Vintage Easter Cut-Outs!

Hi Friends! A few years ago I found these fantastic Easter Cut-Outs  published by "Golden Books". They were originally printed in 1937, but they republished them in 2010.

 They couldn't be any sweeter!
So sweet in fact that I haven't been able to cut them!

I thought it might be something that my blogging buddies would be interested in, so I've tracked some down on EBAY FOR YOU! Just in case you're interested, it looks like this seller lists them for $5.99 each plus $3 shipping.

I should have shown you more pics I guess. Because you can also make 6 of the cutest little Easter Nut/Candy cups. And there are lamb, duck, and bunny pull-carts to create. Plus the back has this other cart you make and add some of the cut-outs to. Let me know if you get some, and how they turn out!

In other Eastery news, this huge die-cut chick showed up in the mail today. She was on Etsy, and I just couldn't resist her!

And last night I made paper-mache eggs! The scraps and egg containers are German, and I bought them through D.Blumchen & Co. Here's the link to their Easter shop, but if you haven't visited their website before, you'll want to see the whole thing!
*** BooHoo! They're now SOLD OUT of all egg containers, and won't be getting more! Still take a look at their scraps and other things though!

OK Friends- Hope you all have something fun planned for the weekend!
I believe I'll be finishing up with Easter crafts and then I'll begin packing to move!   Erica :)

Easter Fun, NO PEEKING If I'm Swapping With You!

Hi Friends! I'm sorry that my posts have been few and far between. I haven't been feeling the best with my R.A. When I do get a bit of energy though, I've been making little Easter things for swapping. It's so much fun!
The cute cards in this post were recent purchases on EBay. I needed a little "pick-me-up"!

I tried my hand at a Vintage Easter Putz House!

I made my first little match box!

At my local thrift store I found these two vintage bunnies and a great book! I made a doily basket for the yellow one. Look at what they've been doing at the thrift! They now pull out the old books and write "vintage" on them. This one was marked $2.50. In the past it would have been $1.00.

The next time I visited the store, they had put out the other two bunnies that go to the set! They're so cute!

But not as cute as these little bunnies!

These were at the thrift too, and they're marked "Made in Spain"
I think I have to trim the awning of the one on the right. He's so cute under there...painting Easter eggs!
But you can't see him unless you pull up the fabric.

I found this Good House Keeping ad online and thought it was just great! So I made a couple of these wooded plaques. They're heavily distressed and glittered. Sometimes I get carried away with making things look old! It's just so fun to do!

Another card that I couldn't resist.

These handmade paper mache rabbits are sold, unpainted, by a seller on Etsy. I had fun painting and decorating these up last night. These guys are little, but I have a large one that I'm going to make for myself if I get around to it!

And here is a tip. I don't have one of those little machines that make perfect paper medallions, but I knew that I would want that look for my Easter Swap spoolies. I remembered that our Goodwill always has these huge badge/ribbons for $1.00! And the two smaller pink and yellow ones were from Target's Valentine's section. They were 75% off, and I just had to remove the heart on the front.

And here's one of the spoolies that I made with the large medallion ribbon!
You may want to look for some of these because it worked really well.

I hope you're all doing well!
I mentioned that I had some exciting news to share, and here it is.
I'm moving!!!!! My (twin) sister ended her LTR with Mr. NOT Right. So that means that she's able to live with me! We got a very cute townhouse, and we move in on April 1st! I can't wait for this new chapter in my life. My parents are wonderful, but it's been quite difficult to live at "home" during my early 30's. I can't wait to show you all the new place, and to decorate it!

So, you know how I just got out of my cast a couple months ago? I still have lots of pain and limp quite a bit. Well the other day Angie (my sister) fell down the stairs and broke her foot. So she went to the ER and got her cast. Then she came home and stumbled down the stairs AGAIN with her crutches! This time she cracked a couple ribs!
We are quite the pair! It's pretty ridiculous! :)
