Rednesday: Raspberries Make Me Miss Grandma :)

I found this pretty little plate last night when I was at the Goodwill. The back is marked "Nippon", "Hand painted". I know very little about dishes and china etc. But I knew it was worth more than the $1.50 I paid for it. I bought it though because I have a thing for raspberries.

When I was little I would pick berries with my sweet and tiny Grandma at the patch up the hill from our cabin. She taught us how to get down real low and look up...underneath the bush. That's the way you don't miss any! Inevitably, my sister or I would stumble and fall down the rocky hill on the way back to the cabin. There the berries would go. Skinned Knees! Tears! As I'm writing this I'm wondering why Grandma ever let us go with her! We ate more berries than we put in our buckets, and then we spilled them coming home!
Oh I miss her so much...my sweet, sweet little Grandma. :)

I found this cute Easter Postcard at my favorite Antiques Shop the other day.
I thought with her darling red coat, she'd be good for Rednesday. Feel free to take this image if you'd like!

Happy REDNESDAY everyone! Be sure to visit Sue to see more REDNESDAY here!

  2. I have never cared for the fresh raspberries, but love that kind of tea. I also really like your header. If you have no objections, I am going to feature you on my Pink Saturday this week.

  3. I bet those outings with your Grandma were more about spending time with her granddaughters than they were about the berries! Such a wonderful memory, and a beautiful plate!
    Happy REDnesday,
