Carol/C.Pohl, and L.Andrade: I'm sorry, I should have told you that you would need to include your email in your comment. You all show up as "non-reply". Please email me at

Will you each please let me know that you're still "IN" by replying to this post? It would be nice if everyone could have their package mailed out by MONDAY the 21st. That gives you two weeks, and we will all have a few weeks to enjoy our decorations/etc.

I received a few emails with questions, so here are a few thoughts. First off, I'm so sorry that I didn't take into account that you might have to spend $7 to $9 bucks for the med/large heart box. I bought mine after Valentine's Day at half off...I'm sorry if that is more than you wanted to spend. But please know that there aren't any strict rules.

Here are a couple ideas. Instead of using a larger sized box (like in my original post), you could make one little one, and one med. The Russel Stover ones hold three pieces, and costs $1.00. The Whitman's holds 6 pieces and I think they are about $3. This is the style of box that you'll want though because the inside parts can be removed. Notice the box that says "Happy Valentine's Day"...it has a firm plastic inside with places that hold the chocolates. You won't be able to fill it very nicely. All of these came from Wal-Mart.
So that's that! Make one big one, two littles, a medium and a small...it's totally up to you! But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give your partner things that you would want to receive!
Mine are going to be filled with about 50/50 new and vintage. And I'm not anti dollar section/store because they have gotten better these days. Did you see all the cute things Target has? Love that red and white twine!

Thank you all so much for joining my swap! I'm still learning as I go, but I sure hope it goes well and that you all have fun! Happy (Early) Valentine's Day!

A GREAT BLOG I want to tell you about!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to let you know about this great blog that I found a couple weeks ago. I think it's one of the best resources I've come across for vintage images!
And knowing you guys, (my blog friends) I think you'd love to use these images too!

Valerie's Blog, "The Sum of All Crafts" is a collection of artwork, crafts, and an extensive collection of images! She is a full time artist with an associates degree in Graphics Art & Illustration.  Valerie also runs an art group on Yahoo called "The Sum of All ATC's".

Today on her blog Valerie posted a series of vintage notions and

Wouldn't these be fun to use on your next art project?

With the Holidays just around the corner, I think Valerie's images will be a great help when it comes to the little handmade projects that I have in mind.
I'm so thankful that there are generous artists out there that are willing to share with those of us who are not so skilled at digital imagery!
Thank You Valerie!

Sweet Things!

Hi All! :) Well, My Mom and I joined Weight Watchers this morning. So naturally I had to make a run for ice cream tonight...with tomorrow being "D-Day" as we call it. I'm a Ben and Jerry's customer. LOL Lets just put it that way. Ben and his brother Jerry are pretty much the reason why I have to join WW.

I came home with this one. Have you tried it? I of course already had...it's for SERIOUS chocolate addicts only. "Chocolate Ice Cream with Chocolate Cookies and Swirls of Chocolate Pudding" !  Half of you reading this right now want to gag, the other half want a spoon!

Well, I didn't even eat the Ben and Jerry's, because then I saw these darn things!
Have you seen this commercial? The one where the teeny tiny model/actress is scaling the roof tops of the cars in a traffic jam in order to get to the ice cream truck full of "Magnum's"?

Now I wish I didn't even know how good they are! OK, the ice cream has the little vanilla bean flecks in it, and then that caramel...some of it's soft, but some of it's a little crunchy, and it reminds me of the sugar on top of crembrule. There are 3 in a box for $3.00 at Wal-Mart.
I now curse the day these were invented also!

THIS is the kind of ice cream cuteness I should stick too...
Here are a couple of cute invitations for you!
Enjoy! :)

Did you see these HUGE lollipops at Target a few weeks ago? I really bought them because they were so cute! Those dots are Necco Wafers inside! Turns out they weren't just cute, but really really good! Don't worry, two were gifts...one was for me!

But the sweetest thing ever is this doll baby here! My 3 year old niece, who's growing her bangs out and likes to where a bit of lip gloss! Her Auntie Erica has been teaching her the importance of art, and the meaning of the word "vintage" since she was born!   Haaa!  :)

I hope you all are having a great weekend! Be sure to get some ice cream in there! :)

Short & Sweet...and a free image! :)

I'm just showing a couple of my finds from this weekend.
First is this super cute tea cup and saucer from the Goodwill. Isn't he charming? And, he's got some value!

I looked him up on EBay. He's made by the PY company, which made lots of Anthropomorphic items. Such cute S&P shakers with faces (lemons, tomato's etc), that kind of thing. This guy is actually called "The Gay Man", and there is a super cute "Gay Woman" tea cup too!

I'm going to list him on EBay. That's what I sat down to do! But I ended up blogging about him instead!

I think every "vintage-loving" girl should have a copy of this in her kitchen! Or "cake-loving girl"!
Going for sale on Etsy! :)

Lastly tonight, this is a pretty little bookmark for you. I found it at my favorite antiques shop here in town, Annie's Attic. Annie is wonderful, and the place is packed with treasures!

Rednesday: Raspberries Make Me Miss Grandma :)

I found this pretty little plate last night when I was at the Goodwill. The back is marked "Nippon", "Hand painted". I know very little about dishes and china etc. But I knew it was worth more than the $1.50 I paid for it. I bought it though because I have a thing for raspberries.

When I was little I would pick berries with my sweet and tiny Grandma at the patch up the hill from our cabin. She taught us how to get down real low and look up...underneath the bush. That's the way you don't miss any! Inevitably, my sister or I would stumble and fall down the rocky hill on the way back to the cabin. There the berries would go. Skinned Knees! Tears! As I'm writing this I'm wondering why Grandma ever let us go with her! We ate more berries than we put in our buckets, and then we spilled them coming home!
Oh I miss her so much...my sweet, sweet little Grandma. :)

I found this cute Easter Postcard at my favorite Antiques Shop the other day.
I thought with her darling red coat, she'd be good for Rednesday. Feel free to take this image if you'd like!

Happy REDNESDAY everyone! Be sure to visit Sue to see more REDNESDAY here!
