I found them at one of the antique stores in town. They're embroidered, but then the pale blue and the yellow color are painted in. I've always had a thing for nautical items, but mix in vintage, kittens, and embroidery...I had to have them! LOL
They're pretty grubby underneath the glass. If it wasn't for that paint, I could soak the linen. I shouldn't though should I? Any thoughts on this?
The pictures reminded me of a really cute Rand McNally Junior Elf Book.
I love Little Golden Books, but Rand McNally's really are the best!
Your family has been waiting for you!
They sailed by day...
They sailed by night...
They met the beautiful Queen...
And the King Cat too!
They had a lovely time, and were happy to be home!
*** I cut parts out. Don't worry, they didn't ditch their little kittens! :)
I'm linking up with Coloradolady for "Vintage Thingie Thursday" !
Hi Erica! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who's wide awake! Whenever I take a trip I find myself lying in bed thinking of all the things I don't want to forget to take with me!
ReplyDeleteI love...love...love your kitty cats! My husband and I are huge cat lovers...with three lovable housecats.
Your post is darling!
Thank you for you kind words on my blog!
Blessings...and maybe a few winks of sleep!
Carolynn xo
I could join you most every night at anytime. The lack of sleep is very tiring and frustrating far me. I live these little kitties.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny that we would worry about storybook kitties being "ditched?" lol! That was so adorable. We love cats at our house, but our golden retriever Daisy is the Queen. Two of the three cats are known as the "mean girls" because they leave out the older cat and don't include her in their kitty cat games. =D
ReplyDeleteHi Erica, that was a beautiful post, I LOVE your kitties! We have kitties at our house too, Wilma just does tolerate them! Have a good weekend, I'm going junkin!
ReplyDeleteDorothy
Night blogging..done that too. Now I have done this before, open up the back and see if it is on the glass? I am quite sure these will fit in the box I sent...really! Good grief you are killing me....so cute. Smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteHow adorable your Kitties are! They do go perfect with your book! What sweet graphics. My little Kitty Harley and My little dog Bear are the best buddies. They love each other all the time. Rolling and pouncing!
ReplyDeleteI have blogged in the middle of the night, but it is something I don't want to get into the habit of doing. Drink some warm milk like the kitties before bed!
Blessings,
Susie
The kittens are adorable. I'm not sure on soaking or not. Wish I could help you on that. The nautical book is too cute. Hope you can get some sleep-well it's to our advantage if you don't. Love seeing all the cuties!
ReplyDeleteAw, what sweet kitties! The Captain Kitty book is too cute! I'll have to keep my eye out for that one! Wishing you a lovely weekend Erica! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteMom used to "paint" pillowcases, I can't remember what it was called but it came in a tube, I had kitten pillowcases, I wonder if the paint could be the same sort of thing? Needless to say, she washed the pillowcases!! Hah!!
ReplyDeleteyour kitties are so cute I love the stitched ones.
ReplyDeletesleep I have not slept much in the past few nights and it is catching up to me. It has been very warm and very hard to sleep.
Cathy
Nautical items and kittens! That's a win-win in so many ways! Love these.
ReplyDeleteHi Erica! If the linen is really what is dirty and not just the glass, you could frame the prints in a new mat in navy blue or a darker color that would make the linen seem lighter. Cute even when dirty!
ReplyDeleteTammy
Oh my gosh, I just love vintage kitten images. Thank you for sharing these. SO CUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteErica!
ReplyDeleteI just saw your tags on Tammy's blog. Goodness gracious girl, they are ADORABLE! I love all the details and the way you wrapped them up. So sweet and fun! Love the cereal bowl on the back. What a great job!
