I'm back...I think. lol
I've missed you all! Is this winter a killer, or what? Here in MN we're so used to freezing temps and lots of snow that you would think it wouldn't be a big deal. But this is for sure the worst winter I've been through! Day after day of sub zero temps, and then the weather guy will say "Get ready, the coldest temps are yet to come!" What??? I think that this Spring will be the absolute best! It can't come soon enough!
Anyway, I finally got my Valentines decorations up.
I had vowed to never own any other type of holiday tree. Well, I finally caved. I was no match for the 50% off ($4.00) pink tinsel tree from Target after Christmas. So I now have a Valentines tree. I draped it with vintage mercury glass beads and little things that some of you have sent me!
Kim K. and I did a little putz house swap this year. Here is the house she made me! Can you believe how cute it is? She's so talented!
In the front are a couple 3-D Valentines from Germany. And behind them are the adorable candy boxes that I received from Dorothy, and Marlynne. Oh, and my vintage book of cut-out Valentines that I found at an estate sale for $1.00 last summer!
This is one of my favorite vintage x-mas ornaments. It's German.
Deb sent me this wienee valentine the other day! And in the background is the candy box that Maddie made for me last year. I found the Beswick dachshund figure at the flea market a couple years ago. The frame is from Target. I know I have a couple more wiener dog valentines that blog pals have sent me. I need to get them up there too.
Chris M. made that darling hula girl shadow box for me last year.

This big canvas wall hanging was at JoAnne's a couple years ago for 75% off. The puppy valentine up in the corner came just yesterday from Linda Lou!

I'm so glad I took the time to finally put some decorations up. It cheered me up and reminded me how lucky I am to have such sweet friends out there.
XOXO- Erica
Yay! I am so glad you are back. I am seriously done with this snow. We never get it and have had it twice this Winter already. I HATE IT!! It's fun when it first starts falling and its all pretty and clean. But then it gets dirty and turns to slush and we lose our power three times in 2 days? No thank you. I will take the Oregon rain over it any day of the week :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your valentines décor! I really need to do a little more crafting before it's time to put all of mine away.
Have an awesome week~
Erica
Happy Valentines Day to you! Stay warm, it sure has been an awful winter, how long will it take for all this snow to melt.....
ReplyDeleteLove your display - take care..
Welcome Back. I am done with this winter and we haven't even had any snow. Yet! I love your Valentine shelf, it is absolutely gorgeous!

Your decorations are lovely! I never understood the non Christmas Christmas tree either, but then I started blogging and saw how cool they can be. I especially love the Valentine's Day trees but all the Halloween ones have to be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYour little pink tree is so cute, and the fact that it's surrounded by gifts from friends makes it even better.
I hope things warm up for you guys soon. And I agree, this winter thing is getting a little out of hand. Springs needs to move its ass!
I love the house Kim made for you! So cute and clever!
ReplyDeleteWe have about a foot of snow and I have learned that a foot of snow in town is much different than in the country! The plows can't get the side streets very clear with cars parked on them.
I've missed you and your happy posts filled with goodies, Erica! You're too cute with your oath to not get another holiday tree. :) Love all your valentine things and how very sweet and precious they are when you can look at them and so many have been made by friends for you! Lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day!
I was so happy to see a post from you!! I missed you and and am so glad you are back, hope you got lots of things done that you had wanted to accomplish. Your Valentine display is gorgeous!!!!! Every little treasure is so perfect, and I really like the way you used the frame behind it all. Happy Valentine's Day to you! :)

Thank you so much for sending me the Christmas cards if I haven't thanked you before now, you are such a sweet friend!! This winter has not been kind to me either, and I've been laid up with the shingles, NOT fun!!
ReplyDeleteStay warm, my friend,

ReplyDeleteNo denying it. It's been a very long winter. I really do think we'll be ice skating in March at this rate. I always perk up when I see that you have a new post on your blog. Your Valentine touches are so sweet So many wonderful things tucked here and there. My parents were with me this weekend when I came home from the hospital and one of the first things I told my mother to do was to go pick up the house that you made me. Such a special treat from a special friend. Valentine hugs!!
ReplyDeleteThis L-O-N-G winter has been hard :(
ReplyDeleteI sure loved seeing your Valentine treasures! Love the putz house that Kim made for you! Such talent...Can't wait to see what goodies you have for Easter!
Warmly,
deb
❤ Happy Valentines Day! ❤
ReplyDeleteGreat set up!
Not to fond of this winter. We had a pretty bad ice storm here in Toronto that took down a lot of trees, which "they" say somehow may warm it up in the summer. I predict a hot, hot summer this year!
Welcome back! Love all your Valentine treasures and handmade pretties!! Have a wonderful week! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteSo much eye candy!
ReplyDeleteCathy

Oh my goodness! All kinds of sweetness!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful decorations for valentine.
ReplyDeleteHello Erica!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear from you....I want to apologize for not accomplishing the completion of the many little projects I have promised to you and others. I get spurts of energy and then things just keep getting in the way...I start to get somewhere and then something always comes up :( I know that organization is the key to function....and I am working on that. This spring I'm doing a real clean sweep....everything is going on tarps to be sorted and nothing is coming back in without a proper place....I don't want to be an unorganized hoarder....lol
(((HUGS)))
