You Just Never Know: An Estate Sale Score!

Last Saturday there was an Estate Sale just a few blocks away. I told myself that I wasn't allowed to go. But the pictures looked sooo amazing! A house jam-packed with vintage everything. Well, an hour before closing time I couldn't stand it any longer! I begged Angie to run over there with me.
The house was still full of stuff, but I ran directly to the basement...

Where I found about 8 big boxes of Vintage Christmas! What???? Why was it all still there? This never happens to me! A corsage still in the box, a jar full of mercury beads? I was literally shaking!
For an hour I dug and sorted...and gave Angie instructions! LOL
"take this, I need another box, block that lady"! haha

I've always wanted to try one of these Santa Card Clip things, and I love these big Santa faces! They'll be great on a wreath! And the glittered pine cones are perfect for the x-mas corsages that I make!

Isn't he sweet? He's about a foot tall. I need to do a little research on this blowmold I think.

Has anyone seen little trees like this (on the left)? At first I thought they were pine cones but they're not. They're the perfect trees to decorate putz houses with! I love the sugary lollipop ornaments too!

So when we carried it all upstairs (in a really nice Rubbermaid container with removable trays), at first the lady said "The ornaments are .50 each, no matter what their size". But then when she saw how many I had she said "How about all of it, including the container, for $20.00"?
Ummm...OK!!! :)
When I ran downstairs I was hoping to find an ornament or two that someone had left behind! It just goes to show you that you never know what you'll find!

I hope you all find something unexpected this week too!
Erica :)

  4. Lucky!!!
Maybe that's why so many were left behind. Nobody else wanted to pay 50 cents an ornament. But, since you hit it at the end, they just wanted to get rid of it. No matter what the reason, you scored!

  17. Good job on the holiday fun! I hate it when they price ornaments individually..so much easier just to throw a price on them than count them individually. Love the teeny trees!
