REDNESDAY: Flea Market Finds and BBQ's

Hi All :) I hope you're are having a great week! Perhaps getting in some good ol' fashioned BBQ's and picnics with your family?

The Flea Market was a bit less than  "Fabulous" this past weekend. But I still bought a few cute things! I got a great start to a vintage cookbook collection. AS IF I need another collection of anything!

I really love this little "Betty Crocker Out Door Cook Book". It's got cute illustrations, and great tips.

Fish Fry at the Shore?

Or Corn Roasted in Foil?

I'll take any form of BREAD! Hot Bread in Foil with Garlic Butter!

***Could my pics be any worse? I'm sorry! I'm a "night person", and this is how your pictures will turn out  if you don't have day light on your side!

I also found these cute iced tea glasses! I paid $3 for 4 of them. When I got home I did my research, and found them on EBay, but they aren't that cheap! haha They were made by "Federal", and I'm on the look out for several more.

I can't seem to do a post lately without including some PYREX. The red fridgie was (finally) at the flea market! And the Butterfly Gold bowl was a sweet gift from my dear friend Jill of "A Little Bit Of Everything"! Her Pyrex collection is pretty amazing, and so is her talent for finding vintage treasures!

Lastly, I must show you my other find from the flea market...

This JUMBO coloring book is by "Whitman" of course, because they published the cutest things ever! The gal was asking $5, but she took $3. The front and back are the same, and perfect for framing!
Look, the train even has a sweet face! I can't stand how cute it is. These are the kind of things that get me into trouble. I can't pass them up. Ahhhhhh!

Here are some of the cute pages...

Pretty sweet huh?

Sweet Things!

Hi All! :) Well, My Mom and I joined Weight Watchers this morning. So naturally I had to make a run for ice cream tonight...with tomorrow being "D-Day" as we call it. I'm a Ben and Jerry's customer. LOL Lets just put it that way. Ben and his brother Jerry are pretty much the reason why I have to join WW.

I came home with this one. Have you tried it? I of course already had...it's for SERIOUS chocolate addicts only. "Chocolate Ice Cream with Chocolate Cookies and Swirls of Chocolate Pudding" !  Half of you reading this right now want to gag, the other half want a spoon!

Well, I didn't even eat the Ben and Jerry's, because then I saw these darn things!
Have you seen this commercial? The one where the teeny tiny model/actress is scaling the roof tops of the cars in a traffic jam in order to get to the ice cream truck full of "Magnum's"?

Now I wish I didn't even know how good they are! OK, the ice cream has the little vanilla bean flecks in it, and then that caramel...some of it's soft, but some of it's a little crunchy, and it reminds me of the sugar on top of crembrule. There are 3 in a box for $3.00 at Wal-Mart.
I now curse the day these were invented also!

THIS is the kind of ice cream cuteness I should stick too...
Here are a couple of cute invitations for you!
Enjoy! :)

Did you see these HUGE lollipops at Target a few weeks ago? I really bought them because they were so cute! Those dots are Necco Wafers inside! Turns out they weren't just cute, but really really good! Don't worry, two were gifts...one was for me!

But the sweetest thing ever is this doll baby here! My 3 year old niece, who's growing her bangs out and likes to where a bit of lip gloss! Her Auntie Erica has been teaching her the importance of art, and the meaning of the word "vintage" since she was born!   Haaa!  :)

I hope you all are having a great weekend! Be sure to get some ice cream in there! :)

Sail Away...with Cats?? :)

Hi Gals. My sleep schedule is so messed up right now. It's 1:00 AM, and of course I'm wide awake. So might as well blog a bit right? There must be something new I can show you! How about these...

I found them at one of the antique stores in town. They're embroidered, but then the pale blue and the yellow color are painted in. I've always had a thing for nautical items, but mix in vintage, kittens, and embroidery...I had to have them! LOL

They're pretty grubby underneath the glass. If it wasn't for that paint, I could soak the linen. I shouldn't though should I? Any thoughts on this?

The pictures reminded me of a really cute Rand McNally Junior Elf  Book.

I love Little Golden Books, but Rand McNally's really are the best!

Your family has been waiting for you!

They sailed by day...

They sailed by night...

They met the beautiful Queen...

And the King Cat too!

They had a lovely time, and were happy to be home!

*** I cut parts out. Don't worry, they didn't ditch their little kittens!  :)

At The Flea This Weekend... Come Rain or Shine!

Hi Friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I was able to hit up BOTH flea markets this weekend!Rain was in the forcast, but I got there early and missed it just barely! The pickings were a bit slim, but I did just fine! The best part is that I got to get out there and do what I love the most, but hardly spend any money. Sometime just hunting is "enough" for me! I didn't come home empty handed though, so here we go...

WHAT??? Could these girly girls be any cuter? I think not!

I saw a stack of these magazines for $2 each. The insides have the neatest ads! I'll have to post more about them later. I'll also scan these covers and clean them up.

1927, and 1929! It's amazing how many of the company's that have ads inside are still in existance...JC.Penny, Valspar Paint, Quaker Oats, SunKist Oranges, Armstrong's Rugs, Colgate.

I wanted you to see how beautiful this one for JELL-O is!

Wouldn't that be pretty if you framed it, and put it in your kitchen? I'm going to scan it.
Let me know if you want it. :)

Of course I'm always keeping my eyes open for Pyrex! This casserole was $3, no lid but I like this style as a bowl anyway. I'm trying to get all the colors. I like that it's not as huge as some of the other Cinderellas.

And this Verde piece was... .75 with the lid!  OK then! I'll take it! LOL

This was my only other find on Saturday. A Whitman board game!  A saw the cover, and I just knew I would LOVE what was inside. I hoped it was all still there...

YES it was! Do you want to be Bill, Sue, Jack or Jill? LOL

"Climb the hill with Jack and Jill, and to the lucky winner,
The little elf says, "Eat Your Fill", But please save room for dinner."

Doesn't the Elf look like the "Elf On The Shelf" ? HaHa!

On Sunday I found two more pieces of Pyrex. The one on the top is a harder to find "Promotional Meadow Casserole". It came with it's lid, and the Snowflake piece all for $7.00! Deal!

Another "Rand McNally"! This is a really cute one.

Sorry, my pics are terrible this time.

I need to scan things like Renee! Hee Hee!

Cute! :)
I've always wanted some of these old number tacks to dress up my huge art cubby. They're so expensive on Etsy though. Not these...$2, and he tossed in the cute Bunny card!

And finally, I found one of these cute Bunny Puppets! It's really soft mohair, and for $3, I was SOLD!

I hope you all had LUCK or FUN at least, at the flea market or Thrift Stores this weekend! Or maybe it was a good weekend for you to garden, or bake, and not BUY a thing! And that's OK too! :)

I'm linking up for the FIRST TIME with FLEA MARKET FINDS!
Have a great day! Erica :)

REDNESDAY: Flea Market Finds

Hi Friends! I thought I'd show you some of my finds from the past week or so. Here we go...

This darling shelf was at the Flea Market for $5. The lady said it had been hanging in her mother's house for well over 50 years! I love that I didn't even have to paint it.
Now, I don't collect wiener dog things, but this one says "Beswick England" on the bottom and was at the Flea for $3...so I was in!

The "Where Women Create, Creative Connection" is held here in MN each fall. I bought the Panda Box( by Nicole Bowen ) and the Spun Cotton Mushroom ( by "Vintage by Crystal " ) when I was able to attend a couple years ago. Oh was it fun!!! I took two painting courses with Laurie Meseroll of Earth Angels, and I sewed the cutest mohair bunny with Jennifer Murphy and her mother Pat.
I hope I can attend again this year. Let me know if any of you are going!

Three little spice jars...3/$1.00 at a garage sale. I couldn't pass that up. I love cobalt blue!

My Pyrex collection is still growing. At first I took this pic...just thought I'd show a couple at a time.

And then I thought, to HECK WITH IT!! Who am I trying to fool? If you've been following me, you'll know my current living situation, and that I have nowhere to display my Pyrex right now....

Pan out to what's REALLY going on!! LOL I had to take pics of them on my Dad's pool table, and then back into a box they'll go until I can get my own place next spring, after my surgery. I found the Red Square Hostess piece at the Goodwill for $5.
I guess a "girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do"...in order to get her Pyrex On! :)

Thank you all for visiting me today! Blogging is really helping me during this time inbetween my foot surgeries, when I'm not able to get out of (my parent's) house that much! I appreciate each one of you!

I'm linking up with " It's A Very Cherry World for REDNESDAY " for Rednesday! Pop on over to see lots of cute red things!
